WELCOME TO ARTS ATTTACK
Bringing creativity into every classroom, one lesson at a time!
Arts Attack is our PTA-sponsored, volunteer-led art program that gives students the opportunity to explore art, learn new techniques, and build their creative skills throughout the school year.
Each classroom’s Arts Attack Volunteer will work with their teacher to choose one day and time each month to teach that month’s art lesson.
1. Find Your Monthly Lesson
All Arts Attack lessons are available in our Google Drive and are organized by grade level and month. Each lesson is designed specifically for that grade, with skills and concepts building as students progress through the grades.
Throughout the year, students will explore concepts such as line, shape, texture, color theory, painting, drawing, artist appreciation, mixed media, ceramics, and more!
2. Schedule With Your Teacher
Coordinate directly with your classroom teacher to select a day and time each month that works best for your Arts Attack lesson.
3. Reserve Your Art Cart
Art carts are located in the hallway at the back of the 200 Wing. Before your lesson, use our Art Cart Reservation Calendar to “check out” a cart by adding your name for the date and time you’ll need it.
4. Everything You Need Is on the Cart
Your cart will be stocked with the supplies needed for that month’s lesson. Take the cart to the classroom, teach the lesson, have fun, and let the students get creative!
5. Return & Reset Your Cart
When your lesson is finished, please return all unused and reusable supplies to the cart and leave it organized for the next volunteer. Return the cart to its designated location in the 200 Wing hallway.
*Please throw away supplies that are completely used up or no longer usable, such as empty glue sticks, dried-out markers, empty paint containers, broken crayons or chalk, used paper plates/palettes, worn-out sponges, and other disposable materials.*
You do not need to be an artist or an art teacher to volunteer. The lessons and supplies are prepared for you—you bring the enthusiasm! Our goal is to give every student the chance to create, experiment, learn about art, and have fun.
Thank you for volunteering your time and helping bring art into our classrooms!
